Still can't get an avatar.....
as a couple of you know, i tried to change my avatar a few days ago and failed miserably. i thought that perhaps, like a creepy spider in the shower, if i left it be for a little while, the problem would go away and everything would be ok.
but this is not the case. i can't get the avatar i wanted, i can't get ones that i'd settle for and i can't get the one i had back..maybe somebody could try to assist me one last time?
please
thanks,
~K

I know its pretty messy in here, but I kind of like it that way.
Oops! Careful not to trip over anything, it can get very dark sometimes

To me it looks like the gallery section name is missing from the url of your current avatar: its url is images/avatars/gallery/makeup.jpg
whereas Twitter's for example is images/avatars/gallery/reserved11/twitter.jpg
Do you know which section the avatar you wanted was in?

hm. interesting theory, Laura. the one i originally wanted is in Eclectic7 in the lower right-hand corner. its a red eye with black tribal around it. jo mamma and mallie both tried to get it for me, though and it didnt work. theres another i'd settle for, also in E7. its like, an amber-colored background with a clearish red heart on its side in the corner. with a shadow. wow, explaining is tough..der

Well, what I said is definitely what's wrong, cos if I insert "eclectic7" into the url then I do get the picture
images/avatars/gallery/eclectic7/makeup.jpg
whereas without it it's not found.
What I don't know is how to get the board software to use the correct url.
Is it only eclectic7 that has this problem? Can you successfully select an avatar from another gallery?
I think as an experiment I'll try setting my own avatar to one from eclectic7 to see.

The whole thing is messed up. Even if I remove and try to reselect my own avatar, it decides to omit the gallery name (in my case "reserved") from the url and breaks it.
I think this means nobody's been able to change avatar since Deb did the upgrade. Not sure if we admins are able to fix this, I think we need Deb.
