phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database.

I was replying to a post and pressed submit and it came up, then i tried to go onto another thread and it said it again. I've only managed to get back here because I had it stored in my history, and that still seems to be letting me see pages which I've already viewed. Anything new I try and click on keeps coming up with that message. Don't know if its going to let me post this though...

Does anyone know why? :-?
