Being signed out of bus

Post by Kaz » Mon Oct 25, 2004 11:04 pm

Ok, I'm really crap with computers and generally anything technical, so I apologise if I sound really stupid here...

In the last few days BUS keeps signing me out while I'm on here. I wondered if someone was signing in as me, because I know some people know my password, so I changed it. But it's still doing it.

Is there any reason it would be doing this so often suddenly?

Kaz, I think it may be a problem with the mysterious cookies.

Maybe the computer you're using has a very strict cookies setting, and so won't let you stay logged in even for a setting. Try resetting the cookies set on your browser, and see if that helps.

That happens when i use the uni computers because they don't allow cookies. have to log in everytime u click a button (reading things from place is a nightmare cos u have to be logged in to read it)

if it's your own computer you can change the cookie settings in ur browser
if its a public computer ur not supposed to reset the cookies and all i can suggest is only logging in to reply to a post etc and reading psots while u are not logged in.

Hey, thanks for the replies...

I wouldn't think it could be the cookies (though I have to admit my knowledge of it is so vague I could be wrong) because it's my home computer and I've not changed the settings... I'll try changing them though. :-?
