After You Beat an Urge

How do you beat your urges? Examine how you beat the last one so it can help you beat the next one.

Did I identify what feelings were leading me to want to SI?

Yes

If Yes - What were they, and how did I figure them out?

Loneliness. I felt alone like nobody wanted to speak to me. At least not any of my close friends.

What coping skills did I use to deal with these feelings?

I emailed a close friend I hadn’t talk to in a while. I also exercised.

Were these coping skills the most effective I could have used?

Yes

If No - What coping skills got me through?

Why do I think they worked?

Because they reminded me of what’s good in my life.

How can I deal with these feelings more effectively next time, before the urge to SI sets in?

Stay in contact with people.

Maybe.

I'm curious as to why you put "positive" in the subject line. What about this experience was positive for you?

lol Ok :) That makes perfect sense now!
Most people use "after" to mean "after I hurt myself" & I was rather stumped as to which bit of the post was the positive part

Glad you made it through :)

I should have put the "After You Beat an Urge" heading above it.

I edited it so that it's there now.
