I am proud of you! Good job fighting and using writing as a good coping strategy. Writing will not only release, but it will help you understand your thoughts better and the openness will bring healing- so way to go!

It sounds like you really have a handle on this. You are recognizing the urge but finding ways not to act on it. That takes a lot of strength and you should be proud of yourself for that.
Sometimes when I am feeling panicky and feel like I need to SI to releave some of that chest tightness, I do an activity that is meditative for me. My big one is knitting, but anything simple and repetetive helps me. Sometimes I just shuffle cards. I find it helps to keep my hands busy. Do you do anything like that? Just a thought.
Write. Write and write and write until everything is out of you. Until it's all down on a page instead. Then perhaps destroy that page? Burn it or tear it up or something to symbolize destroying the feelings and beating the urges.
Hang in there. I'm proud of you for recognizing that you don't want to SI to feel better.
Love,
Stevie
