Good job beating the urge. And I didn't know that there were after success questions. I really need those.

With the social anxiety, maybe you could start small with the number of people and build up. You could invite J, C, and M and maybe 1 other person that you wouldn't normally. Or maybe even two other people. If that starts to feel comfortable, you could add more people gradually. I think another thing to think about is what you admire in J. If he is a more confident version of you, what things does he do differently, and how can you develop those skills.
