after - drugs

Post by Priceless » Sat Jan 14, 2006 1:49 am

I had a really strong urge to do drugs again, i didnt, but its was a bit scary, because it felt like i was back at day one of not doing drugs, it was horrible, my mind telling me, just one more time, you feel so good if you just do the drugs, ive had a a few hard weeks going up and down in my mood, and been very su at times, and od once, the drug thing was in the evening tuesday evening.im gonna answer the question as good as i can

# Did I identify what feelings were leading me to want to do drugs?
no, i just think it was general crappyness, and also getting the escape

# If Yes - What were they, and how did I figure them out?
thinking after

# What coping skills did I use to deal with these feelings?
i went to sleep, and then work, and then i felt better after getting nada [ear accupunture]

# Were these coping skills the most effective I could have used?
the nada is the best i can use, it works really well for me, and trying to delay going to buy, and then ill get throu, because im good at delaying, and sleeping is good to.

# If No - What coping skills got me through?

# Why do I think they worked?
because i believe they work

# How can I deal with these feelings more effectively next time, before the urge to do drugs sets in?
deal with my moods more effectively, and talk talk talk to the people i trust, and go to na meeting more often, and read *just for today*, everyday.

It's good that you've identified some skills that work well for you.

The ear acupuncture sounds interesting.

I'm really glad that you were able to resist the urge.

Acupuncture, seriously? I thought that was only for pain and things...

I'm gonna go google it now... this sounds intriguing.
