Hello, I'm new

Hello, just wanted to say hello to everyone because this is my first post.

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice / thoughts on how they decided to stop SI. I want to stop but I don't want to... if that makes any sense.

Hi and welcome to bus. Don't have any advice on stopping. I'm in the same boat I'd like to not SI but I am afraid to give it up. I had about a year free then gave in to an urge. However, when I look after myself, sleep, eat keep from isolating myself the desire diminishes.

I have therapist who has had me acknowledge the urge (I have vivid images a lot) and let it pass rather than try to suppress them. This helped stopping for a while At the very least it reduced the mental turmoil I was causing myself over this.

Heya welcome to bus, for me i stopped because i didnt want to live with the scars when i got older and also i don't want my family or friends to find out, and if i continued that would be inevitable. Have a look around and hopefully you will find the answers you are hoping for.
