Just sharing an idea that I'm trying out. A friend a while ago gave me a tiny little notebook that said "Lovely Laura" on the front cover

Only recently I decided what I would use it for: it's for recording nice things people say about me. Like when someone thanks me or pays me a compliment or just says something really nice. At those times I feel a momentary warm glow, but somehow I don't manage to recall the good feeling when my depressed, self-hating thoughts return. So I'm treasuring them up in this little booklet to reread when I am feeling bad about myself.
I think it will help. It's good to have friends, and to have the proof there that they really are friends.

You're so smart. That's a great idea!
trying to follow in the footsteps of the masters,
but it's a lot harder than it looks because even though
they had the same size feet as us, they weren't looking
down the whole time while they walked to make sure
they were doing it right.
