About a week ago, for the first time in months, I felt like I wanted to SI, so instead, I
ran up to my bedroom, and
lunged for some nail polish. (okay, a bit of an exaggeration lol)
The idea just popped into my head- i had no idea whether or not it would work when i did it, but it helped a ton.
-I wasn't able to hold/pick up anything sharp with wet nails without damaging the nail polish (which i cared about for some reason haha)
-by the time my nails were dry i was able to think things through and resist the urge.
-my nails were pretty
just thought i'd share this idea with you guys, it might help.

wow, syn, you've found the magic of nail polish. whenever i'm upset i change the color or just put on another coat - it does wonders.

Heh, lunged...!
I used to do that a lot, actually.
The nailpolish, not the lunging XD

I've done this, and it is a good idea. I'm glad you were able to find something constructive instead of SI.

That's really great.
I use nail polish in a different way. I put on nail polish so that I can pick at it when it is dry. It usually takes me about a week to get it all off again and picking nail polish off of my nails helps me to not pick at my skin or anything that is healing over.
My nails are currently painted glow in the dark (because it is super cool to play in the dark with them). What color are yours?
