Anxiety

Post by figment » Mon Sep 24, 2007 2:21 pm

I'm sure there are lots of posts on this, but my attention span is a little short at the moment, and finding them is frustrating, so I apologise if I am repeating something.

I'm so anxious, and am trying to find ways to deal with the feelings, not so much the cause, as I am in the process of identifying what that is. I have gotten to the point that I struggle to do anything because the anxiety is so severe. Yesterday, I couldn't get out of bed for hours, shook, couldn't sleep, everytime i closed my eyes my body jolted awake. Sitting up made the feeling unbearable and made me feel ill.

I have been drinking tea, it was helping a little for minor anxiety, trying deep breathing, but it doesn't seem to work.

Today I made myself get up, I went to uni and to the gym, but it didn't seem to help at all.

Any ideas?

Where the ocean meets the land,
It's time to live again,
And pull my dreams out of the sand.

Hi,

I also have bad anxiety. >_< I know it's awful and just living your life day by day is very difficult. =[ I would've suggested exercise, but you've tried that already.

I would also have suggested tea...heh. Oh well. =P

Do you have anyone you trust enough to confide in and talk to when you're feeling particularl anxious? It helps a lot to have someone with you when you're afraid. Just a suggestion. I'm not very good at getting help when I need it, but I know it's useful. >_<

If there isn't anyone, or you don't want to, maybe you should try just getting somebody to sit with you? Even if you don't want to tell them you're anxious/afraid/terrified, just talking to a friend can help.

Good luck with whatever you try, if anything

Anxiety is awful to deal with, and it can make your life a living hell. The most important thing to remember is that it *can't* hurt you unless you let it stop you from doing things you want to do.

Tbh, when I was at a point where anxiety stopped me being able to get out of bed because it literally made me black out, it's probably time to see a doc about meds or other options.

I hope you can get some help :redstar:
