Big problem

Post by Li'lRuby » Fri Sep 07, 2007 2:46 am

Hey...
Some of you might have noticed me around...I've been in and out. I need some help. I'm on my own in my struggle, except the support from Bus. But its been a real down month for me. School has started, I'm stresed out that, I slipped and cut again (I was six and half months clean). I'm feeling pretty angry at myself.
I would just love some support right now. My cut is itchy and that makes me want to do it again. I hate this. Its like a dog chasing a tail.
The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

When I get the feelings you are having I like to think that someone out there has it worse than me. Hopefully I can be that someone for you!

You said that you are in school.

My freshman year my mom sent me to live with my dad. 2 different schools in the 9th grade in Minnesota.

I didn't get along with my step-mom so I left after starting my sophmore year to go with my mom who had moved to PA. 2 different schools in 2 different states.

Mom broke up with her boyfriend at the start of my Junior year so back to MN. 2 different schools in 2 states again.

Finished my junior year and my best friend told me she was going through a college program where you earn high school and college credits, and would not be attending the senior year.

Senior year I transfered to a school that offered early graduation, I knew no one.

I went to 4 different schools while in high school in 4 different cities in 2 different states jumping around between parents.

Hope this makes you feel like your situation isn't that bad.

Peace!

Do you have a school teacher or counsellor you can chat to? (doesn't have to be about self harm - can just be about stress, assignments, etc).

You needn't suffer alone. Bus is great, but can never match someone in real life.

With school - do the best that you can. That's all you can do, and your best is good enough.

Thanks for your encouragment! I really appreciate it. I know I need someone in my life--and that is my T but sometimes I just feel so alone and last night was just bad. And I know I am not alone...I have face to face people who help and who I can call, and I have my internet support. Sometimes nights are just lonley and bad--and I think everyone has this. But college was good today--so that's a bonus. Have to keep reminding myself to think postive thoughts. That this situation, too, will change in time. One day at a time...one foot in front of the other.
Thank you. I'm not going to cut again--I want too but its wrong; its not going to help.

It's good you know it won't help. Sometimes it seems like it will, but in the long wrong it just digs a deeper hole.

School won't last forever. You do get through it. I remember feeling totally overwhelmed by my work and the thoughts of "I have to do well" and that.. just as you said, one day at a time. And there is a life beyond school whether you do well or not.

Maybe this post could help you: http://buslist.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=41662
