Coming out

Post by Griz99 » Fri Mar 02, 2007 4:46 am

I feel like I have to come out to my loved ones about my burning and cutting. I have done a masterfull job at hiding it, and explaining the injuries, but it is too much now. I should get some stiches for the cuts in the past few days, and will no doubt be found out by my wife. I have two young kids and parents that are around all the time. Any suggestions on how to come out to them.
Shrinks are not an option as I am not covered by insurance any more because of loss of job, and had to pay for the last shrink visit and meds out of pocket $420. UG. I'm going to get found out, but I'm looking for way to do it. any suggestions?

i think it's brave of you to want to do this... i've never done it, but i think you need to choose the time carefully... and maybe not come out to them all at the same time... maybe start with your wife, then she can support you when you tell your parents... don't know about your kids... but i'd say tell your wife alone first...
hope it works out...

I just don't know if I want to come out with it, or keep hiding it as much as possible untill I get found out. It is my deal (I'm not seeking attention from anyone). It just seems to relieve me in a way, but then after, I feel kind of guilty.

welcome to BUS :moo:

you could try friends and family forum for suggestions...

coming out could mean you get the support you need. do they know your struggling? perhaps you could le t them know everythings not ok... and get support that way?

I just came out to a friend. It went better than I expected.

Good luck :clover:
