i happened upon this it just popped into my head. it worked too... i wrote on the palms of my hands "i promise i won't hurt you". it was like a promise from someone else. so i felt obliged to keep it. another coping mechanism to add to the list... oooohhhh! it is 30 days today that i am s-i free! whooo hooo, jsut thought i'd share

i did something similar (tho it doesn't always work for me). i put a temporary tattoo on my hand or wrist and the implicit message to myself was "this is pretty, don't si to mess that up". it could also be a reward to myself for not si-ing for a week or however long.
