I haven't had flashbacks, but I think about it... I don't relive it, and that's what I'm assuming flashbacks are. I do have fear of my ex-husband, and yet feel bad for him because I still carry that weight of his control over me. He did have good moments, but overall he was a bad guy. I was sexually abused and verbally abused as a child, and I've recovered from that. I remember it, but I've healed. I'm just now trying to start to deal with the last 10 years of my life involving my ex husband- premarriage and post divorce. I've been suffering the anxiety and depression since September 2006. I'm on Effexor xr, Clonazepam (Klonopin) for the anxiety. I'm kind of scared to start the healing process, maybe then I'll be in a worse state, and I don't need to feel any worse.

I am still trying to get over it and I have been in counseling about 2 years with a few months in between. It takes time to heal from a pain this strong.

Absolutely... maybe on my thread we can kind of talk about this too and if anything has changed for us with the faith thing...

Anyways, you're right.... it takes work, time, and faith in yourself that you can get over it enough to function.... fear is so hard to get past.
