Never thought I'd say this but, I actually quite like this song and the chorus really describes how I feel a lot of the time...

Try-Nelly Furtado

All I know
Is everything is not as it's sold
but the more I grow the less I know
And I have lived so many lives
Though I'm not old
And the more I see, the less I grow
The fewer the seeds the more I sow

Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try
Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try

I wish I hadn't seen all of the realness
And all the real people are really not real at all
The more I learn, the more I learn
The more I cry, the more I cry
As I say goodbye to the way of life
I thought I had designed for me

Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try
Then I see you standing there
I'm all I'll ever be
But all I can do is try
Try

All of the moments that already passed
We'll try to go back and make them last
All of the things we want each other to be
We never will be
And that's wonderful, and that's life
And that's you, baby
This is me, baby
And we are, we are, we are, we are
Free
In our love
We are free in our love

It's not a whole song, it's just the last verse of Almost Unintentional by Alistair Hulett, and it gets my feeling exactly right.

By a tortuous process of slow elimination
He worked on all the things he can't control
The way he has to cheapen what he wanted most of all
So losing it won't leave him feeling vulnerable
If you ever see her tell her that he said hello
But he can't care much more than he could show
Right now he's just not capable
Of anything that's almost unintentional
...then one day I realised that the people you see in waiting rooms and car parks and on trains are really far more interesting. That they all have whole novels inside them, a fabric of scar tissues, photos and memories. They are comedies and tragedies and - more often - both at the same time.

road trippin' by the red hot chili peppers. not so much the words, but the 'feel' of the song. just mellow and cool.

i find that the sound and feel of the song fits me better than the words do.

My recovery injection- Biffy Clyro:

I've been waiting on the overdrive
Slick and polished on the inside
It ruins feeding time

I'll recover in an empty room
In remission from a real mood
Sit down fuck up and wait your turn
Why can we hide our secret lives
Why can't we climb these useless heights

You hide your time, So well
Small scars of love
And hate and happiness
You hide your scars, So well

I'll recover if you want me to
Dig my way out of my black mood
Wait for the sun to fade
Why can't we hide our useless lives

You hide your time, So well
Small scars of love
And hate and happiness
You hide your scars, So well
You hide your time, So well
Small scars of love
And hate and happiness
You hide your scars, So well

And nothing matters anymore?(You say nothing)

Don't Close Your Heart by H.I.M.

I know how it feels to be on your own
In this cruel world where hearts are bound to turn to stone
Where you are alone
And tired of breathing
It's all going wrong
And you just can't stand the pain any more
You're too numb to believe in
In anything

Baby just don't close your heart
Baby just don't close your heart
Baby just don't close your heart
Darling don't let me down

I know how easy it is to let go
Surrender to despair lurking at your door
To lose your soul and all your feelings
Strenght all gone
And so many things left unsaid
And deeds undone
You've stopped caring
'Cause it's all in vain

Baby just don't close your heart
Baby just don't close your heart
Baby just don't close your heart
Darling don't let me down

You are so alone
And tired of breathing
It's all going wrong
And you just can't stand the pain

Baby just don't close your heart
Baby just don't close your heart
Baby just don't close your heart
Darling don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Just don't let me down

This song is amazing. I think it's soo awesome and amazing how songs can explain how you feel better than you can yourself and how they can sum up how you feel in 3-4 minutes.

No Rain by Blind Melon XD

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin' the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
And speak my point of view
But it's not sane, It's not sane

I just want some one to say to me
I'll always be there when you wake
Ya know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and I'll have it made

And I don't understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that there's no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape

escape......escape......escape......

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
ya don't like my point of view
ya think I'm insane
Its not sane......it's not sane

If there was a soundtrack for my life, that song would be on it. In like, first place. Or whatever.

the second song on my soundtrack and the perfect new years eve song

"A Long December" by Counting Crows

A long December and there’s reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can’t remember the last thing you said as you were leavin’
Now the days go by so fast

And it’s one more day up in the canyons
And it’s one more night in Hollywood
If you think that I could be forgiven... I wish you would

The smell of hospitals in winter
And the feeling that it’s all a lot of oysters, but no pearls
All at once you look across a crowded room
To see the way that light attaches to a girl

And it’s one more day up in the canyons
And it’s one more night in Hollywood
If you think you might come to California... I think you should

Drove up to the Hillside Manor sometime after two a.m.
And talked a little while about the year
I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower,
Makes you talk a little lower about the things you could not show her

And it’s been a long December and there’s no reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better that the last
I can’t remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass

And it’s one more day up in the canyon
And it’s one more night in Hollywood
It’s been so long since I’ve seen the ocean... I guess I should

This song, but I don't know why:

"Map Of The Problematique"
by Muse

Fear and panic in the air
I want to be free
From desolation and despair
And I feel like everything I saw
Is being swept away
When I refuse to let you go

I can't get it right
Get it right
Since I met you

Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over

Life will flash before my eyes
So scattered and lost
I want to touch the other side
And no one thinks they are to blame
Why can't we see
That when we bleed we bleed the same

I can't get it right
Get it right
Since I met you

Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
~ Syn

with recognition we will grieve
that waking is the sorrow of ending dreams

Say you were split, you were split in fragments
and none of the pieces would talk to you
Wouldn't you want to be who you had been
well, baby I want that, too

So better take the keys and drive forever
Staying won't put these futures back together
All the perfect drugs and superheroes
wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero

Baby you're great, you've been more than patient
saying it's not a catastrophe
but I'm not the girl you once put your faith in
just someone who looks like me

So better take the keys and drive forever
Staying won't put these futures back together
All the perfect drugs and superheroes
wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero

So get out while you can

Get out while you can
Baby, I'm pouring quicksand
And sinking is all I had planned
So better just go

Oh, better take the keys and drive forever
Staying won't put these futures back together
All the perfect drugs and superheroes
wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero

All the king's horses and all the king's men
couldn't put baby together again
All the king's horses and all the king's men
couldn't put baby together again

Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds (for my Brother and me)(It's our song since we were teenagers)
"If you learn from your suffering,

and really come to understand the lesson you were taught,

you might be able to help someone else who's now

in the phase you may have just completed.

Maybe that's what it's all about after all..."

At the moment..

Little House - The Fray ... just.. fits.
It does not do to dwell on dreams, and forget to live - APWBD.

Music is life.. we each have our own symphony.. and we control it for the most part.. sometimes instruments drop out.. and others join in.. but when the music fades and the symphony is done.. then we have created a beautiful, personal piece. - Me.

Breaking the back - Million Dead

on leaving school immersed in philanthropic notions
(of a kind these days i find unthinkable)
i pulled my frail frame onto my charger
and rode off into a sunset with agenda predictable.
fresh faced - young dumb and tragically convinced that
blind faith could make an infantile normative playground theory on social interaction positive enough to show them all but alas!

working the tills put hair on my chest, telesales made me a man.
and everything was going to be ok,
but the making of the man was the breaking of the back upon the rock of everyday hostility.
and i don't mean to seem at all ungrateful,
but the air-conditioned life has left me gasping for some real conversation.
and just because turing couldn't possibly conceive a machine with this little personality,
i'm working shifts in veal-fattening pens,
and yet i'm puppy thin because to tell the truth i was hanging on for something more than distant dial tones and a sense of ending.
the breaking of the back was the making of the man.

I'm in a bit of a bitter / angry mood at the moment. This is a brilliant song, full of energy. It actually strangely cheers me up, which is wierd.

edit - terrible spelling. had to fix it.
