Throwing socks at a wall is good. Esp when you visualise a person that has pissed you off, if they are a reason for sh.
I also like to write songs or just generally write exactly what it is that is making me feel bad. It sorts things out in my head into more manageable parts. Bitesize problems!!
These are all great way to cope, btw. Will be taking tips and trying some. xx

Soft music.
Longgg and hot showers.
Painting my nails.

Can you hear my cries?
Screaming. Deafening cries. Looking around, wondering who's making such a racket and why they aren't being silenced. Then I realize it's me screaming.

making lists: lists of books I want to read, lists of CDs I own, lists of classes I want to take, wishlists
I like lists a lot.

Yes thanks for bumping, I wouldn't have found this otherwise
things I've used include-
get outside and walk around, usually very fast
music often works, especially put on headphones and turned right up so i can't hear anything else (as long as this isn't SI'ing my eardrum!)
drawing on myself (sometimes works really well, other times useless)
assaulting empty plastic bottles
either bashing a pilow around, or putting it over my face and shouting and screaming at the top of my voice
...then one day I realised that the people you see in waiting rooms and car parks and on trains are really far more interesting. That they all have whole novels inside them, a fabric of scar tissues, photos and memories. They are comedies and tragedies and - more often - both at the same time.

-I try to get away from where I am (ie. take a walk, take a shower, etc.)
-I think about how many people would be pissed at me if I SIed
-I have a text message from my coach who has been very supportive of me. It just says "be good", but I know what he means and it makes me think of him and how bad it feels to let him down.
-Sometimes going running can also help

(like most people have said) Driving somewhere and talking to the car about why I'm pissed/upset/angry etc also screaming at the top of my lungs in the car is good-no one can hear you! Unless you have a window down and you're passing a cyclist-woops!

going for a walk.. even if its night and in my backyard.

music.

replaying a conversation between me and my band director in my head... its one where he had just looked at me and was like "be good." and like someone else had said.. I know what he meant by it.

jumping here on bus.

my kitties.. i love them.

Music is life.. we each have our own symphony.. and we control it for the most part.. sometimes instruments drop out.. and others join in.. but when the music fades and the symphony is done.. then we have created a beautiful, personal piece. - Me.

I read my list of things I have to be happy about.
I look at my progress chart and say - do I want to undo all this?
I have a letter two of my ip friends wrote me, it's full of really nice things and inspires me to stay well.
I post here.
I have seven really thin beaded bracelets. After I get through each day, I can wear one more. On sunday I take them all off and start again.
Writing.
Listening to loud music.
Playing guitar.
Tht's all I can think of at the moment, but this is a great post. Some of the ideas are brillant.

Wow, you guys have some really great ideas!

I need to try a few of them. one out of none I really like your bracelet idea. I might try to do that.
Usually, I journal or draw (though I;m not very good at it, but I like to make comics)
listen to really loud heavy metal music (it soothes me in a really weird way. I swear, Slipknot has saved my life a couple of times)
Watching funny things like South Park (Matt and Trey are like gods to me!)
That's really all I can think of right now. I really like some of these ideas that you guys have though

The Before and After thread has helped me today.
I filled out the Before questions, instead of going ahead and just cutting,
And I was able to stop myself from cutting!

and really come to understand the lesson you were taught,
you might be able to help someone else who's now
in the phase you may have just completed.
Maybe that's what it's all about after all..."
