Numb :(

Hi all,
I'm new here and this is my second post, and I'm not sure what to put.
Over the past two days I've been feeling numb as anything. I don't know why or what caused it, it just came on in a flash. This is usually the time where I SI, but try not to because I'm trying to give up. But it seems like the only thing to do.

Anyone know what I can do?

Numb is very familiar...that's how I feel a lot of the time. I don't know if its better or worse than being hurt , sad, or angry. Sometimes every feeling just becomes all mixed together and overwhelming....maybe that's when I feel numb. It's like a emotional shut down.

hey.. sorry you've been feeling numb lately; that's one of the worst feelings. i go through phases of total numbness, and think i need to si to feel things again. but lately, i've been able to get out of it easier. here's some tips that work for me:

:dkpurpstar: hold ice cubes in your hands until they melt. (very effective for me)
:dkpurpstar: snap a rubber band on your wrist, or where you normally si.
:dkpurpstar: try some grounding techniques (mainly to stop you from dissociating, but they can also help you feel less numb) posted in the sourcebook. remind yourself of the date, time, location, etc.
:dkpurpstar: excercise; it helps you feel happier and more alive sometimes.

I get how you feel. I try the elastic band thing and it works for me sometimes
