Scars

Post by kurtrox94 » Sat May 01, 2004 1:19 am

Does anyone out there know about how to make your scars fade away? It's getting really hot and i would like to show my arms but, I don't want to have people find out that I started cutting again.
Thanks,
Missy

Missy.

The best thing to help your scars fade is time.
It depends on the depth and severity of them as to how bad they will
scar.
Once they have healed rub some Vitamin E cream into them. This helps the skin heal better and reduces scarring. Also make sure you keep the wounds clean while they are healing to avoid infection which will slow down the healing and could make the scar worse than it could have been.

Yes, time is the best thing. But there are other things that help too, such as silicone gel patches - rather expensive but they do help, and you might be able to get them on prescription if your doctor is sympathetic about your scars.

Also scars can be disguised with make-up. Lots more info on this in Sourcebook - see the Contents Page

Good luck
