I like to listen to Contemporary Christian Music... here are some of the songs I listen to when I'm trying to calm down/ relax/ get into a better frame of mind:

"Bless the Broken Road" - Selah
"When the Saints" - Sara Groves
"History" - Matthew West
"When He Ran to Me" - can't remember the artist...
"Crying Out to You" - Tina Osborne
"My Prayers" - from the Amazing Freedom CD
"I Know You're There" - Casting Crowns
"Love Alone" - Caedmon's Call
I'm always a shade of purple...

"Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness" - Psalm 51:14 (TLB)

"The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth'." ~Dan Rather

I like to listen to "Deine Lakaien" - but this could also be a bit depressing, so please take care, I don't know if it's relaxing to you.

songs:

Return
Kiss the Future
My Shadows
Into my Arms
The Game
Kasmodiah
Wasted years
Love me to the end
Ulysses
Made in heaven
Over and done
Member of the Welcome wagon

I guess some people are just born with tragedy in their blood.

Sorry for language mistakes! :cowsleep:

I have dozens of play lists and each one is for a different mood or purpose - even though many of the same songs are on different playlists :o I suppose the combination of songs is what either relaxes me or hypes me up.
I'm always a shade of purple...

a few of my mellow ones are ....
Blind Melon › Change
I dont feel the suns comin out today
Its staying in, its gonna find another way.
As I sit here in this misery, I dont
Think Ill ever see the sun from here.
And oh as I fade away,
Theyll all look at me and say, and theyll say,
Hey look at him! Ill never live that way.
But thats okay
Theyre just afraid to change.
When you feel your life aint worth living
Youve got to stand up and
Take a look around you then a look way up to the sky.
And when your deepest thoughts are broken,
Keep on dreaming boy, cause when you stop dreamin its time to die.
And as we all play parts of tomorrow,
Some ways will work and other ways well play.
But I know we all cant stay here forever,
So I want to write my words on the face of today.
And then theyll paint it
And oh as I fade away,
Theyll all look at me and theyll say,
Hey look at him and where he is these days.
When life is hard, you have to change.

Meat Loaf › Heaven Can Wait
Heaven can wait
And a band of angels wrapped up in my heart
Will take me through the lonely night
Through the cold of the day
And I know
I know
Heaven can wait
And all the gods come down here just to sing for me
And the melodys gonna make me fly
Without pain
Without fear
Give me all of your dreams
And let me go along on your way
Give me all of your prayers to sing
And Ill turn the night into the skylight of day
I got a taste of paradise
Im never gonna let it slip away
I got a taste of paradise
Its all I really need to make me stay --
Just like a child again

Heaven can wait
And all I got is time until the end of time
I wont look back
I wont look back
Let the altars shine

And I know that Ive been released
But I dont know to where
And nobodys gonna tell me know
And I dont really care
No no no
I got a taste of paradise
Thats all I really need to make me stay
I got a taste of paradise
If I had it any sooner you know
You know I never would have run away from my home

Heaven can wait
And all I got is time until the end of time
I wont look backr
I wont look back
Let the altars shine

Heaven can wait
Heaven can wait
I wont look back
I wont look back
Let the altars shine
Let the altars shine

Overkill
can't get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications

Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know I'll be alright
Perhaps it's just imagination

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away

Alone between the sheets
Only brings exasperation
It's time to walk the streets
Smell the desperation

At least there's pretty lights
And though there's little variation
It nullifies the night from overkill

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away
Come back another day

I can't get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications

Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know I'll be alright
It's just overkill

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away
Ghosts appear and fade away
Ghosts appear and fade away
If you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
~ Friedrich Nietzsche

It depends on my mood but lately its been these:

Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Lady Antebellum
All Around Me by Flyleaf
Anywhere But Here by Chris Cagle
I'd Find You by Chris Cagle
I Love You This Much by Jimmy Wayne
Invisibly Shaken by Rodney Atkins
Let It Rain by Jason Michael Carroll

Ya, I just raelized what a country music kick I'm on right now lol. And some of these songs are dead depressing...yet they relax me. Well slap a sticker on my butt and call me a weirdo. :D
