reward system

Post by ChaosCat » Mon Dec 03, 2007 2:32 am

I know some people reward themselves with things when they haven't cut. Things like stickers on a calander and stuff. I am going to start a paper chain and if I slip I am just going to start a new color paper rather than start over. That way I can see something that will be really inspiring to me. Do you use a reward system? If so what is it?

I never thought of that ! It is a great idea.

I also like how you will just change color instead of starting over, that will show more of your overall progress and not just the slips. :gooddeal:

I think your way is a positive way :)

Some rewards I've tried:

-> made myself a bracelet, crafts are fun as well as a reminder that I can do it
-> took my dog and me out for icecream
-> sticky note on mirror of things I like about myself, that one really didn't work out
Everyone has a story.
This is mine in all of it's awkward-messy-geeky-bias-spastic-blunt-spontaneous-mad-authentic-aesthetics.

Thats a great idea, chaoscat.
I haven't really used a support system...have tried a lot but they just were not working. I just reward myself by going easy on myself and not taking on more than I can handle (sometimes that doesn't work either :P).

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Someone gave me the idea of a paper chain, but they thought it should start over. I just thought that would discourage me having to start over. I know I don't SI more days than I do now and I thought at the end of the year that would be awesome to have this huge chain. I want to decorate the links in my chain to make it special. I went out and got stickers.

OMG same as for the ice cream, nice big bowl of chocolate ice cream :D
If I don't slip, I usually treat myself somehow, the ice cream for one :P Others include putting on a funny movie or something even if it's very late at night :) That's about it though :)
Just let time tell the story, and act accordingly. (Phrase by myself)
