I love cooking, and sometimes I cook to take my mind off things. Today I was cutting up a huge red onion for some soup, and I was surprised at how good the onion tears felt! I've been really worked up the past couple of days, but I haven't been able to cry. Sometimes not being able to cry makes my si urges worse-- you know, needing that release. Anyway, tearing from the onion sort of opened things up for real tears.
Don't know if anyone else might find this useful, but I thought I'd post it. I guess it never hurts to have one more thing to try.

oh yeah, I totally agree. After the initial stinging stops, feeling all hot and teary can be quite calming. I also find it comforting when my hands smell like onions after I've been chopping them, I wonder why

If I ever get to a point where I can't get myself to cry even if I'm really upset I lock myself up with a sappy movie that will always make me cry, like The Notebook. Maybe I have no spine idk lol but I agree that even if you aren't crying for the reason you want/need to, it's still crying so it feels good

When I need to cry to release emotion I try to yawn. Whenever I yawn, my eyes water. Then I can cry til the cows come home. Makes me feel heaps better
