New...and STILL scared.

Post by firegurljess21 » Mon May 14, 2007 5:50 am

Well, I am new to this site. This will actually be the first time I've talked to people about what I do. I have yet to figure this all out. I have been cutting for 11 years, and I am now trying to stop. I never really have before. I guess I'm just tired of the embarrassment and shame I have for what I do to myself. I don't like to wear short sleeves because then everyone can see my scars, and I don't want to let these scars control me anymore. I need help I guess, and I don't even know where to look for this "help". I have kids, and a family, and I am just ready. So, hello everyone.

:moo: Welcome!!

It is hard to "come out" to people and start to talk about it freely when you've never done so before. Good on you for taking the first step.

It becomes easier as you see everyone here doing the same thing. And noone here is going to judge/ condemn you.

I hope BUS becomes a support for you and you achieve your goals of stopping self harm. We believe in you.

:redstar:

By the way, you might want to post on the main Bodies Under Siege board, as Coping is a bit quiet and you'll get a bigger welcome there :) Or if you'd like I can easily move this post across for you.

Welcome to BUS. Hope you find it as helpful as I have. I was in your shoes when I first joined, and here I am now seeing a therapist next week. I as well am a mother and a wife. I started cutting when I was 11, so for 14 years now.

Hope bus helps you as much as it has helped me! Feel free to PM or IM me anytime you need someone to talk to.
