How do you survive a panic attack?

Post by teacher2B » Thu May 10, 2007 12:47 am

I've been having fairly frequent panic attacks of varying severity and duration. Am going to talk with my gp about this when I see him in a week, but in the meantime, how does one get through a panic attack without needing someone else to break the cycle for them or resorting to self harm?

The thing about panic is it can't hurt you unless you let it. It passes. Breathing helps.

Take a look at these threads:

Hope the doc helps :redstar:

Thanks for those links. I'm going to print those out so I can access them quickly when I feel a panic attack starting.
