how did you get rid of scars?

hi, I am ready to start a battle once again (maybe the problem is I have lost belief that I will ever be able to win it), but this time I really need an advice on scars - what to do with them, so they are less noticeable and visible?
I have mine on places, where they are really visible, so I need to fight with them. I am not ashamed, but more smooth skin would make me feel a lot more confident.

There are surguries.... although doesnt work on older scars. Ask your dermatologist or skin care person

I found this stuff in the chemist today called 'scar serum'. Only just started using it so I don't know how good it is, but thought I'd mention it.

I actually went to drugstore to ask for something and was recomended Dermatix, which, I guess is quite new. maybe someone is familiar with this stuff?
it is quite expensive and is based on silicone.
