1) If you could paint the room you're in now to match how you're feeling or to what's going on in your life, what would it look like?
dark purple/blue walls with a mural of a vangoh
2) Change the image of the room to match how you *want* to be feeling that gives you the power to control what’s happening in your life today. What does it look like now?
Similar painting, but another wall would be a mural of this pretty road in my town. and a skyline.
3) Which feels more comfortable the first colour scheme or the second?
I like the second better.

1. Black backdrop with random splatters of red and grey. Handprints in white paint going up the walls around the window. Feeling very trapped and frustrated at the moment.
2. Light shades of blue with wispy layers of white.
3. Definately the second.

My room would be black.

My room would be terracotta... calm, earthy colours...

Since I'm feeling frustrated and angry and sad and . . . triggered, I'd paint my room with dark blue and black vertical stripes, with diagonal red streaks. It would end up looking like a mess because I'm a mess.
2) Change the image of the room to match how you *want* to be feeling that gives you the power to control what’s happening in your life today. What does it look like now?
I want to be feeling light and fluff and just being comfortable being me and being healthy, instead of trying to be sick because that is what's comfortable to me. So . . . white and lavender with royal purple furnishings. Lots of silks and satins and velvets.

how i feel at the moment:
the walls are dirty white and there is hard dark wooden flooring. there are three windows and another one on the ceilling but light never gets in because the windows are tainted. there is a wooden chair in the center of the room, and a book i've read a thousand times before but it still doesn't make sense to me. i try to open the windows but the locks are jammed so i'm stuck and i can't reach the window above me, not even if i stand on the chair. there is a door in the corner, its small and red, but i can get through it. however on the door is a sign that says if i go through it there is something horrible on the other side, so i'm too afraid to venture out of this prison. lying to the floor gives me bad back ache so i cant sleep and i'm allergic to the food that is dropped through the window above me, so i starve.

Re: Paint a room
I'd paint it blue and black and red...because there's been a lot of tension and arguing in my life and sadness and some big black issues right now. There's mess all over the floor and the paint is peeling off....there are no windows, the only light comes from a flickering bare bulb. It's cold.limestone wrote:1) If you could paint the room you're in now to match how you're feeling or to what's going on in your life, what would it look like?

Painted orange and pink and all the other colours of a sunset. Colours that mean peace and contentment and finality and control. It's warm and light streams in from a big window. Everything is in its place.
second because it means an end to all the bad stuff and it means I can breathe again.3) Which feels more comfortable the first colour scheme or the second?

1wall in black black board paint covered in white chalk so I can write random phrases. Maybe the other half of room full of diagonal stripes in multicolours black to show how everythng is out of sync right now and yet formed together.

Right now I would like to be chilled and calm and in control. Id like my old room, alternate red and cream walls with a black boarder - it feels safe and grown up like all this should be in the past.
Which feels more comfortable the first colour scheme or the second?
Parts of both then I can merge the old with the new and desired and feel at one

1) I'd paint it all red with black curtains and all black furniture and paintings by Mark Ryden (he's an artist who has a collection called "Blood"... very cool paintings) all over it
2) A green like it is right now with white curtains and pictures of Ireland all around it with all light wooded furniture
3) The first one

1. The walls are covered haphazadly in a bunch of different kinds of white paint: matte finish, thick textured paint, off white--all variations on the theme. In one corner someone painted a square of blue, but it didn't work out. Now the edge of that single blue square is covered in a semi-gloss white paint. Large areas of the walls are unpainted, forgotten temporarily.
2. I would paint the room to look like a clear night, looking out toward this hill in my town. The hill it black and massive, but through the trees you can see the houses as small spots of light. and there are stars in the sky and it is beautiful.
3. the second.

Right now the room would be black and red and purple and blue and dark green and white. All the colours would be thrown on the walls in a jumble that seems to have no beginning or end or clear boundaries. It is cold. The windows look out on to a grey brick wall. The light is just a bare bulb. The furniture is bleak and sparse and there are many obstacles to be avoided on the floor.1) If you could paint the room you're in now to match how you're feeling or to what's going on in your life, what would it look like?
The room is like my room at home. With eau de nile walls and warm cream curtains. It is tidy and inviting. It seems safe.2) Change the image of the room to match how you *want* to be feeling that gives you the power to control what’s happening in your life today. What does it look like now?
Second one. It is the same as my only safe place and I feel as though I could use that right now.3) Which feels more comfortable the first colour scheme or the second?

my room right now would be red and black. the windows would be painted shut so theres no air getting into the place. the furniture would be really hard and square so it has jaggy edges. it would be a huge room and have very little in it.
what I'd prefer would be purple and lilac (like my bedroom is) with big comfy armchairs and cushions and those giant bean bags. The windows would be wide open and there would be my favourite music playing. There also be quite cluttered with things i love, like faerie ornaments and soft toys.
this is a really good post.

My room right now would be painted with that chalkboard paint. Do you know what I am talking about? It this paint that makes a wall turn into a chalkboard. I would spend all day, everyday, in my room, sitting on the floor, waiting for something to come to me to write. This is the story of my life right now. I feel terrible, and the way I deal is writing but I can't think of anything to write, so...
My room the way I want it to be, to match the way I want to feel... hmmm... let me think... OH I KNOW!!! I would me one HUGE mural. On all four walls that wraps around so that when you walk in you feel like you are really there. What the mural would be of is my family's lakehouse. It's the only place I've ever felt safe in my entire life. So that is how I would paint my room.
And I would definately have to pick the second room.

My first room would be blank. White walls, nothing on them, grayness coming in from outside, no sunshine. It would also be soft, with no rough edges because I feel like I'm not angry or anything, I'm just softly miserable.
My second room would be soft colors, I think I'd do a mural I saw once on one wall, it goes from the sunshine on one side through clouds and then to the deepest night, it's a reflection of creation and the heavens. The other walls would have bunches of pictures of family and friends, just to remind me that there are people in my life who love me.
I would choose the second room. I want that happiness and feelings of love, I just don't know how to believe in that again.

1) If you could paint the room you're in now to match how you're feeling or to what's going on in your life, what would it look like?
The room would be blah. Very plain, probably white with very little furniture and decorations.
2) Change the image of the room to match how you *want* to be feeling that gives you the power to control what’s happening in your life today. What does it look like now?
This one would be blues and greens. It would have a place especially for my kitty to sleep and it would have bookshelves and a desk. There would also be posters that I like.
3) Which feels more comfortable the first colour scheme or the second?
The second one is definitely better!

1) If you could paint the room you're in now to match how you're feeling or to what's going on in your life, what would it look like?
Different color on each wall--peach, red, purple, white. The furniture's nice and there's enough space, but everything is put together kind of oddly, like the decorator was on a tight schedule and didn't have time to make it all flow together neatly.
2) Change the image of the room to match how you *want* to be feeling that gives you the power to control what’s happening in your life today. What does it look like now?
I'd repaint the walls to more similar shades--not change the palette, just get them to flow together more calmly. I'd rearrange the furniture to make sure there was a place for work, play, relaxation, and socializing. Oh...and I'd take out the mirror and put in a big homemade poster instead, showing a list of my hopes and dreams...and a pen so that I can add more and check them off as I accomplish them.
3) Which feels more comfortable the first colour scheme or the second?
Well, the second one sounds more desirable--and I would definitely like to work towards that...though right now, the first one seems so much more familiar.

Interesting...I am just in the process of picking a color to paint my room. If I didn't have to get parental approvement, it would be a deep shade of greyish purple. The curtains would be some off shade of white, and my walls would be covered with pictures of my friends and the places I have travelled.
Dark though...definatly dark.

It would have 2 walls with bright neon colored stripes and the other two walls solid dark blue walls

now It has white walls [sadly] with lime green curtains and bed set and stuff seems bubbly doesn't it? Uhh I'd most likely just paint my walls

1) I'd paint it white. and red. and black. and yellow. OR I'd just turn the walls into rusty metal. Actually, I guess I feel the way my room is right now- concrete with irregular bumps in it, wwaaay too many layers of off-white paint with patches of old paint and concrete showing through.
2) Umm... just matte white. Pure white. Flat white. Elegant, sleek, single-minded, clear. But not concrete white with bumps like it is now.
3) Definitely the second one. Doesn't everyone want the second? The places I'm in always have an impact of how I feel about them.
