Hey im Adam, and im new here. Ive been having alot of problems when i am by myself. I have social anxiety and I feel safe by myself but at the same time it brings me down because i think of what im missing or what i could be or should be. I feel that if I like being alone than whats the point of being here. This keeps happening and no matter what good things are happening, nothing matters anymore when i get this way.
I had excluded myself from everyone and canàt count my friends on one hand and that makes me sad. I try to convince myself I dont need people.
Im ok except for when im alone.

*pops out of thin air next to you* Surprise Happy birthday! lol sry I'm in a REALLLLY weird mood right now
n e who. *clears throat* *looks around at the billions of people on BUS*
See all those people? *points*, and me? *bats eyelashes* I do believe we are considered some of your official friends now (and thats a lot of hands to count them on)
Social anxiety disorder is nothing to be ashamed of. My friend has it, and she has a few friend like me that are there when she needs us, and when she wants to be alone, respect that too. I'm guessing the friends you have right now know about your S.A.D? This is totally up to your comfort zone, but if you haven't told them, and they are close to you, explaining what you have might give them some insight into why you feel the way you do, and how sometimes you really just don't want to be around people.
I did that when I was diagnosed with Bipolar I. My friends who used to wonder why the hell I was either uber depressed or uber hyper or agitated stopped asking me why I was acting so weird and now just laugh and joke that I haven't taken my meds today hehe
Are there any hobbies that you enjoy doing by yourself? Art? Reading? *another good example that evades my mind right now*? Getting involved in one of those could be really helpful with your mood, you will be doing something you like and having fun without having to interact with people if you don't want to. And if you have a day when you want to interact with people, VOIALA! instant thing in common with someone = new friend
Sry I'm kinda bugging out over here...wee bit manic at the moment
*clears throat* anywho, this is probably the longest post reply ever, but thats ok
And as a final note, don't dwell on what you COULD be, because you are who you are right now
and as for SHOULD be....I'll tell you what you SHOULD be
YOU
So smile, don't worry, be happy
Lots of love and hugs if its ok
