drawing & hanging out with friends are good ways to distract :)

I don't want to have to do it again
--you don'g *have* to. self-harm is a choice. even when it feels otherwise.

have you checked the list of ways to cope?

what sorts of situations/emotions most often are problematic for you?

Also examine why you want to SI, if there is a stressor or problem that you can identify and possibly solve. This often cuts down on urges, at least it helps me.

most problematic are when something happens w/ my parents(both heroin addicts) like my dad going to jail for 3-7 yrs or my mom getting back on drugs

Those are REALLY difficult stressors to deal with. Is there anyone you can talk to, or anything you can do to cope with triggers other than SI?
