i dont know if this is the right board for this, but i didnt wanna post in main, and i need *any* suggestions right now..
my 'self hate' affects every aspect of my life, and i know i'm strong enough enough to deal with my issues, but when i feel unworthy of even trying, it gets in the way, and i end up punishing myself in some way.
so as i said before, if anyone has *anything* for dealing with this, i would be very grateful
-wtf
how to deal with self hate?

what i do is write a list. and for every negative thing i force myself to come up with a positive thing. by the end i tend to realise im not as bad as i thought i was. dunno if that helps..

this is a hard one, and something i think many people deal with. i know i do, though as i have gotten older it has become less of a problem. it's still there at times, however.
i think the key is to break the cycle. we feel negatively towards ourselves so we do something to "punish" ourselves, then we feel even more negative....
if you can stop for a few minutes and just think about what you are doing and why it may help. ask yourself why you feel this way, is it realistic, and then force yourself to think of something better about yourself. it can be something simple such as "i have a really cool collection of socks!" or something more profound such as "i am a loyal and true friend"......it doesn't matter what, just so it is positive.
this takes practice, and it won't happen over night. changes for the better rarely do. but if you can learn to make a habit of this you will eventually start to see results.
