Thanks to Kaelyn for giving me this idea :)
My T gave me a homework assignment. Every day I have to write down something positive that happened and 'connect' that to myself.
For example: people were smiling at me today, that is because I was feeling really positive.
When something negative happens I can write that down too, but then I have to find a reason outside myself. For example: my mother and I had a fight but that was because she was really tired today.

The only problem is that I'm going on vacation on friday, for a week, so unless I find an internet cafe there will be no messages from me that week. But when I get back I'll post something for every missed day.

The point of this exercize is to give me more self-confidence.

I'll start with yesterday:

:pinkstar: Today I went running and I ran farther than ever. That is because my endurance is getting better and better.
(I'm not sure how to 'connect' this to myself.... any ideas?)

Ok, my first negative.

:pinkstar: Today I got to hear to result of the small IQ tests that I have done and the outcome was that my intelligence is around average. Average for me = not good. That is because I messed up one of the tests because it was really old fashioned and I didn't understand half of the words. So, not my fault :)

(And I know my intelligence is higher than average :) :roll: )

(This will be my last post here before I go on vacation btw)

I have neglected my log :o But I need to post for distraction anyway so I will put here what I have written down in the past week.


Friday 14 october: despite having many anxiety-thoughts, I managed to comfort myself with thoughts that nothing was going to happen.

Saturday 15 october: we drove right at once, because I am good at reading the map.

Sunday the 16th: I smashed a really scary bug. My sister was afraid to come near it. It was a courageous thing of me to do.

Monday, 17th: I enjoyed myself the whole day and I was barely afraid. I am good at distracting myself.

Tuesday, 18th: I had a talk with the other Dutch people in the hotel. I could do that because I'm not shy.

Wednesday the 19th: I ate too much and I didn't feel guilty.

Thursday, 20th: ?

Friday 21st: we were driving on a very scary mountain road and I was afraid. Then I made something up: I put a 'towel' around my head so that I couldn't see anymore and then I wasn't afraid anymore.

Saturday 22nd: we were stuck in a traffic jam for an hour but I stayed happy anyway and had fun with my sister. That is because I kept thinking positively.

Sunday, 23rd: today I finished my last writing assignment despite much stress and concentrationproblems. That is because I kept going even though it costed me a lot of trouble.
