how do you cope with death?

i'm assuming you mean the death of someone else... rather than the reality that everyone of us will die...

what sorts of things have you tried? have any of those been helpful in any sense?

My grandfather died last year, and that was pretty traumatic and scary. He lived with me and my family, and I watched him slowly waste away mentally and physically for about a year before he finally died. For me it has helped a lot to talk with others who were close to him. It's refreshing, after wrestling with a weird emotion for a long time, to discover that someone else has been dealing with the same thing. It also feels good to remember him with somebody else who knew him, laugh about funny things he did and stuff like that.
