Post by scarlit_sky » Thu Sep 23, 2004 1:18 am

Just a few questions, mainly cuz I'm curious and bored, a lethal combination..... here goes.....

1a. Does your family know about your SI :uhhh:

1b. If yes, how did they find out :uhhh:

2. Do you let your family know when you SI :uhhh: Why or why not :uhhh:

3. Does your family treat you like your are about to break :uhhh:

4. How do you feel about your family knowing about your SI :uhhh:

5. How do you handle the everyday stresses that come with family outings, dinners, etc :uhhh:

If you can think of any other questions that you would like to know about, PM me and I will add them.

1a. Does your family know about your SI
--my older brother does. none of the others.

1b. If yes, how did they find out
--last t called emer. services. brother was near my apt. etcetc.

2. Do you let your family know when you SI Why or why not
--no. i don't see a reason for it. the rest of my family i don't want to know. my brother................... has beliefs about things that i don't agree with. so.. if the subject comes up i'll mention it. otherwise no. we have kinda a sporadic relationship anyhow.

3. Does your family treat you like your are about to break
--naw. my family.................... thinks i'm fine.

4. How do you feel about your family knowing about your SI
sometimes i think it could make some aspects of things easier. othertimes... i don't think so. ultimately... i've decided that it'd make things much more difficult for me atm.

5. How do you handle the everyday stresses that come with family outings, dinners, etc
--usually not very well actually. ultimately i want to get things... to not feel so... mandatory. i don't want to end up so upset. etcetc. for now... i try to muddle through. at times i'll plan out what i can do before/after. etc. just use everyway i know how to keep me from si/od/su/etcetc...

1a. Does your family know about your SI
everyone except my grandmother

1b. If yes, how did they find out
parents found out when I was in the hospital ER for what we found out to be an ulcer, and the tech was putting in an IV; they told the rest of the family when I was in the mental hosp a week later for an overdose (I gave them permission to tell)

2. Do you let your family know when you SI Why or why not
No, my mom would flip out and get suicidal herself

3. Does your family treat you like your are about to break
definitely, more so right after I get out of the hospital

4. How do you feel about your family knowing about your SI
I kinda wish they didn't know, but it makes things easier cuz I don't have to hide the scars except around my cousins (they're still young, and impressionable)

5. How do you handle the everyday stresses that come with family outings, dinners, etc
I don't. When it starts to get overwhelming I find one excuse after another to get out of the situation and go home so that I can come on here, and try not to do anything
