Okay...well this is strictly emotional stuff...I hope there's some basic supplies...food...shelter...the like...

1. My computer (assuming I had high-speed wireless and infinite batteries...) - Because I really don't think I could cope without BUS, I can also use it as a music player, and I can write on it.

2. My cats - because I adore them, and they always serve to provice humor/companionship/something to cuddle/entertainment

3. Coca-Cola - My caffeine addiction. Assuming that my pickings on a desert island are otherwise slim, and I'll have to be exercising a bit, I won't have to worry too much about the sugar content. One can survive for weeks on caffeine & sugar alone. Trust me- here on the mainland we call it 'finals'.

4. A library - oh...is that too much? Okay, the complete works of David Boorstin, the OED, Shakespeare....and..no, I'm just gonna stick with the library.

5. The big bin under my bed with all of my art & calligraphy supplies - It's probably the most fulfilling way I know of to express my emotions.

-----

Interesting question, it really made me think. Thanks bunches.

Now I have to think

I know someone said their kid or partner but I don't know if I would bring either one
Sounds harsh but I am thinking if I am on a deserted island I wouldn't want anyone to have to deal with me if I am falling apart

As for what I would want to help me through
Note pad and pencil towrite all my thoughts
A guitar(assuming I learn to play before I get stranded)
Picturesof things that make me happy and make me realize things always get better
A book of things I have written to see where I was and where I am going
A HUGE package of skittle cause they always make me feel better

interesting... well... I would assume that basic food/water and shelter was "included" to a degree... ? or something like that...

anycase...
~my boyfriend... same reasons as others... he's important to me...
~tablet/scketchbook and writing material(s)
~my dog Kelsey
~ computer/music [internet's a stretch, but it'd be nice...]
~reading materials [nothing really off hand, too many to choose from directly...]

not ot make this all... umm... whatever you'd call it... but if you brought someone, would they be able to bring 5 things [or... heck... atleast 1?] cause if that's not the case, I'd replace the reading materials with a bass and amp for my b/f... Infact I'd almost do that anyways because I love to hear him play... :)

[quote="FarSideGirl"]It just occured to me that none of us said ... A BOAT!!!! How else will we get home when we have had enough?[quote]

If I planned to go to a small island I would have the trip planned including accomodation food and travel so my 5 things would be:

1. My husband
2. Fishing gear so I can get rid of my husband when I need time alone
3. All of my books including my bible/scriptures
4. My art stuff
5. My sewing stuff including machine and all the most beautiful, expensive fabrics in the world.

With all those things I'd never want to leave.

Lets see...
1 2 and 3 are easy, my best friend, my boyfriend and my mp3 player (in no particular order). Those two would keep me constantly amused, they're like an interactive sitcom, the mp3 player would be when I got sick of them :).

Then...
Can I bring a computer and call phone to hook it up or is that cheating?

If so, uhhh...I don't know, my favorite anthology and a fan?

On an Island, I would have to be more worried about survival or anything than emotions, someplaces just don't have room or time for emotions. But that's way too literal. Otherwise i wouldn't need five things, just one person to keep me together, thats all. O, and some snacks, can't survive without cheetos 8)
