Post by SOTTSOLiluyOTEP » Wed Jul 21, 2004 2:27 pm

hmm... well i do this alot(recently did it at camp and my friend i met there didnt get y... just thought i wuz crazy and beyond bored...)
so heres wut i do... i find a thin stick/or thick twig, no more than 6 inches long... and pick up a small smoothish rock and scratch the stick with it to get off all the bark and imperfections... i can do this for hours at a time without pausing... i dont stop until the stick is perfect and perfectly smooth(or if i have to go sumwhere or sumthin)... it keeps my hands busy and i concentrate completly on the stick and get lost in it sort of... idk, it works... so wut do u do?

thats sounds really intriguing. I don't have any coping methods to be honest. Sometimes I'll just sit in a ball and sort of wrap my arms round myself and hide my head until the feeling passes. Thgat's so hard though
and it doesnt always work. I'm seeing a therapist at the mo. I've only been to one sessionw ith her, but she was fantastic. I totally recomend it to anybody!

Might try your stick thing 8)
BIG HUGS n much love to u too!

Well, I know coping ways of other things....someone told me for people who overeat to get a job in food, where they'll see it so much they won't want t eat all the time, or to wash dishes, because looking at all the grease grosses you out, lol.

For SI, I draw on my arms and legs with red marker, it's weird but it works.

For people with low self esteem, pamper yourself, do your makeup or get your nails done or something.

I don't think I answered that question too good, sorry, lol.

I used to grab pieces of grass or twigs and just feel them while I sat outside - then I'd see if one blade of grass felt very different from another. At the moment I like building a jumping course for my dog and making him jump it - he's a maniac and if you don't run really fast then he will jump the jumps in the wrong order so its good exercise.

I don't. But if I do I will keep your name in mind. I just saw them the other day at Ozzfest. She absolutely blows my mind. And the new CD is brutal!

Cutting random pictures and words out of magazines and glueing them into my notebook. Sometimes they correspond with how I'm feeling, other times I'll just pick a color scheme and go with it. It may sound stupid, but it works for me.
And it's hey babe, with your guardian eyes so blue,
Hey my baby, don't you know our love is true,
I've been so far from here,
Far from your loving arms,
Now I'm back again, and babe it's gonna work out fine.

i wax my legs....unfortunately i can only use waxing every so often.

*shrugs* maybe it's not such a great idea.

but snuggling and cuddling my kitty helps.

i use tweezers to rid my legs of hair. one by one. then my underarms
i take abt 2 hrs to get rid of evry strand. (not that i have a lot. it takes concentration to remove evrythg) by the time i finish, i get smooth legs and have got rid of the nasty feeling :)
