You can't really run a server from your box without giving out your IP - even if you have a domain pointing at it, it only takes a single command to get an IP from it. A domain is just a way of making it easier to get to an IP - for example www.jellybob.co.uk says "go to the box at 81.187.181.130 fo...

the second problem is that if/when exploits are discovered, we may have to nuke and re-install, losing whatever features have been installed. so it's a bit of a worry. Hmmm... I'm doing some work at the moment but I'll check it out this evening.

It's possible that I'm serving up enough counters I'm running out of bandwidth - if that's the case I'll ask Deb if I can run it off buslist.org which should sort out the problem.

Yup, most of the code needed to turn off the hours minutes and seconds is there already, just need to set it up so that it saves these things.
