Impulsive SI vs. Deliberate SI

And so even though it is sadder or harder or less healthy than today, there is still some sort of nostalgia to the familiarity. I'm finding that becoming healthie...

I think that what you are doing is beautiful. Things that hurt: - Pretending like there wasn't a problem - Using embarassment/shaming to try to stop the problem - Showing disgust - Using counseling as a threat Things that would have helped: - Unconditional love - Encouraging me to go to counseling -...

YES!!!!!!!!!!! I do not know what I would do without music. I have music for about every mood. Also my radio stations' music helps me to remember how much God loves me/truth and that keeps me grounded.

I would try to start an assignment the day it was assigned. Then I'd work on it maybe 15-30 minutes each day. I'd finish it way before it was due, so I never had to stress out over meeting a last minute deadline. Also, if something came up early with friends, etc., it was okay because I still had ti...

*** warning - SI/ED I am proud of myself because I made it through an almost 4 hour long urge!!!! I said, "I'm going to play some worship songs and then if I still feel like it, okay." Just wanted to let you know I read.... I can relate to that feeling sometimes. But I've found that if I keep writing down the positive things and the happy things, eventually one day down the road I can feel the joy from them all ??? if that makes sense, as I look back on all of the good things that...

Hi, I can totally understand and relate. I did something very similar. For whatever reason, it is a coping mechanism that we have in times of stress (ie, starting college and everything that goes with that). I finally got up the nerve to go to counseling during my senior year in college. Wow, I am s...
