Hi mallie, I can't give you any advice personally, but your situation reminds me a lot of my aunt's. She's been depressed for some time now, but I saw her today, and she's definitely been steadily improving the last few weeks. I remember asking her a few months ago, when she'd started volunteering a...

Thank you so much falling and mallie for your kind replies - it really means something that people read and reply, so thank you *hugs* The questions are definitely something to think about, which I will - and thinking of ways to properly take care of myself when I want to SI is a good idea :) I migh...

*SI* Slipped after 3 weeks

I just SI'd after 3 weeks of being SI free. And I can't believe how normal and good it felt. Someone remind me why it;s good to stop SI when it feels so good? Why is it such a big deal? I need to get back to the place where I hated my scars and wanted to stop, I'm not there now but I know that's the...

I'm sorry you're feeling like this, I'm trying to stop too and am on 1 week 6 days at the moment, so I know how important it feels not to cut. Can you find *anything* to do to distract yourself, if you're scared being in the house, can you go somewhere else? I know it's easy to say, but I also know ...

I didn't because the last time I did (yesterday) I did it so badly that I terrified myself, and so whenever today I felt urgy, I thought back to how scared I was when I saw what I'd done - and I also looked at the horrible wound, and that stopped me. And now I never want to do it again, because I fe...

My Mom - I'm sorry I have to lie to you. But I hope you'd understand that I do it out of love for you, because I know you don't really need to have to worry about me as well as everything else right now. I'm really trying to help myself, and stop hurting myself, and hopefully you'll never know about...

Thanks for all the feedback! It's good to know others have magical disappearing/reappearing scars as well ;-) Plus you all have made me think it's perhaps more to do with heat than exercise itself...I'm quite a warm person anyway, so I'm *always* hot when I exercise (even when I ice skate, hehe ;-))...

Reappearing scars

I've noticed that my oldest scars, on my forearms, are sometimes hardly noticeable, but sometimes they're really red and obvious and scary-looking. Why is this? I always notice they're obvious when I have my skating lesson, so I was wondering if it was something to do with exercise - are scars more ...

Welcome to BUS! I'm a newbie too, but I've already found it to be so useful and reassuring - I hope you do too. When I started cutting I cut on my forearms - but I quickly realised people noticed and questioned me about it as I tend to wear 3/4 length sleeves, so now I tend to only cut my upper arms...

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom Moonstone. I lost my Uncle to suicide just over two years ago, and it was the worst experience of my life. I'd love to talk to you if you wanted to, I think maybe if I'd talked about it more when it happened I'd have been able to cope better, so anything I could d...

*hugs fire.bird* Thanks for your advice, and the welcome :-) It's much appreciated. That's very interesting about the doctor! I assumed I'd *have* to say how I got it...but I think I'll do as you say, and treat it myself for a while...and if it doesn't get better, steel myself for going to the docto...

Infected cut, please help?

Hi all! I'm a newbie to the forums, nice to find a place where I can be honest about what I do. I've been cutting for a few months, but I'm kinda worried at the moment, as I think one of my most recent cuts might be infected. It really hurts even a few days afterwards, it's quite sore and red, and k...
