Re: Before
As horrible as it feels, I'm pretty sure it is not actually WRONG to talk to people and admit that things aren't good. (At least I hope it isn't because I have been doing it. My friends think it is a good thing and that I ought to be talking more, and I'm trying to trust that their view of things is...

Re: Before - feedback appreciated
A couple questions... Do you know if the feelings are connected to anything? Sometimes it can be difficult situations or things like not enough sleep or too much caffeine or (for females, at least) hormone changes during the month. I know sometimes there are feelings that just seem to show up and do...

Re: Before (this is helping!)
First, I am glad this is helping. It sounds like you have a pretty good idea of other options and why you don't want to SI, which is good. I don't know the situation (and don't need to know... it is entirely up to you what you want to share or don't want to) but I wondered what the main feelings are...

Re: Anxiety and Frustrated
I am reading, but late. It sounds like it happened under tough circumstances, but having a case manager may end up being a very good thing. It sounds like you need things (a doctor who will work with you and medication) that you haven't been able to get... a case manager may be able to make that pro...

Thanks! I haven't been able to use drafts, cause I could never find them again. You solved the mystery.

Re: idk what to do now...
I agree with what other people have said, but I know right now things are probably really overwhelming and hard to sort out... So, in answer to the "what to do now", I decided to put my ideas in order. 1) Talk to your friend so you have someone who knows. Sometimes keeping things secret is just too ...

Re: I want to stop hurting myself because...
I posted "yes". But I suspect it is only because I am already several years past my last instance of SI that I could say it that clearly. I know when I was closer to it, I wanted to quit but wasn't sure I would have the strength to, so I probably would have been ambivalent then. SI has never made my...

Re: How do you delete a post?
If you can work out a delete button for real life, I want one. I think I would use that a LOT. Maybe too much... I might end up with no life left at all, if I delete all the parts I don't like. Maybe there is wisdom in not having that option... but I still wish I could have it.

Re: How do you delete a post?
I am not an admin (that sounds so weird!), so I don't know the behind the scenes stuff anymore. And this is just my opinion, with how I understand things...which could be wrong. However, it is still the board not working properly as users need it to work, so I think it needs fixing asap, pretty plea...

Re: How do you delete a post?
I have delete power over my own posts only if no one has replied. Also, I can edit mine but not anyone elses'.
The only other buttons I have are report and quote.

Re: How do you delete a post?
Mine probably does, but it shouldn't. My settings were supposed to match everyone elses... I tried to make them match when I left (an admin CAN deadmin themselves, by the way) but I only got one chance to get it right, because after I am not an admin, I don't have the power to change anything else. ...

Re: How do you delete a post?
This is really strange. I tested both a post here and a new thread here, and I was able to delete both of them... I had a blue X button next to the red ! button. I have no idea why yours isn't working, because I am pretty sure our settings should be the same. I don't know what is wrong, but it isn't...

Re: ED Recovery Advice
I think any professional worth the name would take your situation quite seriously. EDs are not really about the person's body, they are really more concerned with the person's mind (and then what the actions do to the body). A diagnosis of bulimia has no weight requirement at all. Most people with b...

Re: coping in bad ways
It is really easy to trade one negative way of coping for another... I know a lot of us have done that. But you also sound really frustrated and upset with yourself, so I am guessing that this isn't really what you want. When that happens, you go back to reminding yourself that how you cope is your ...

Re: Self-Punishment... please help
I kinda see two separate issues here (well, related, but not exactly the same... whatever). One is the short term "I feel guilty and urgy, what do I do now?" The other is the bigger picture issue of deciding for yourself what is and isn't ok and how to love your family while still facing their flaws...

In reading what you wrote, I had a thought. It might help, it might not... but I figured it wouldn't hurt to share it. It sounds like your mentor was a very special person and someone you really trusted a lot... but it also sounds like you feel a bit lost without her. The problem at work is obviousl...

Re: Depression, SI, and Creativity...
I may not be the best person to answer this, because I have never been able to write songs or poetry well anyway. But I have found for me, my "deep thinking" has changed somewhat. When I was depressed, my thinking was certainly centered around it, and it inspired a lot of my philosophical ideas. Whe...

Hmm... I am reading, but I am really not sure what is happening. I will go mention it on the admin board and see if anyone else knows what the problem might be.
