Hi and welcome to the board. I never really drew on myself, but I certainly scriblled on paper a lot. I also used to draw black and red crosses and write all sorts of words usually on top of one another. It was quite soothing.

Hi, I don't have DID and have only dissociated once, but I remember almost nothing of it and it lasted almost a week (apparently I was really horrible and not at all like myself. I can't therefore really help, but I just wanted to say hang in there. I would imagine journalling would be a good idea -...

I don't know what pilates is - what kind of stretching exercises do you do and how do they differ to yoga? I did a little yoga and it was relaxing so I am interested.

I see recovering from SI as a long process that gets better with time. At first those urges would consume me and I'd be SIing almost daily but then I learnt to fight the less severe urges or desires to SI and gradually the time between became longer and eventually I could fight stronger and stronger...

That sounds like fun too - by the way I think you will have to clear up the potato when you get back though :) Maybe take another one to replace it :)

Hi from what you have written it sounds like you are not getting enough meaningful attention at hime - that you want your parents to notice you and who you are and that is quite normal - I also used to wish my parents really knew me. It sounds like you have some friends who can support you - can you...

I had both good and horrible experiences with doctors... It seemed to depend on their mood and just who they were as well as on how I felt at the time. Mostly they just did their job though and weren't too bad.

I'm a vet which is not technically the health care field really. No one has found out yet and even though scars are visible if people have seen they have not commented. I think the best way to avoid people finding out or getting upset is to be professional so that they concentrate on you doing the j...

In South Africa winters are not so hard (in fact the summers are too hot and its summer here now) Still when its really cold: give yourself extra time to relax - eat marshmallows over the fire - read a book in bed - keep the lights on in your house - have many baths - play in the snow (and be sure t...

Hey, you are welcome here :) :moo: If you haven't cut much though do be careful when you come here as it can trigger. Try to read posts that are less triggery if you can. I also went to the net the first time I cut and I am not sure even now whether it was a good decision - its helped in a lot of wa...

I would imagine you could only get clots if you blocked off the blood supply for a while - like with tight elastic bands, but not by just snapping it. I used this method once or twice, but did not find it too effective.

Road rage can be very scary. I'm glad that it turned out ok though. Sorry that your spouse blamed you. Try to be nice to yourself and...

My SI progressed very rapidly until it nearly did result in death. I had a lot of therapy along the way which helped and I am not entirely sure how I stopped the progression... I had to decide to stop the SI altogether to stop the progression and even though I haven't been perfect it did get better....

I definitely think stopping SI can be done on your own. There are a lot of options you have to choose besides SI. I went to therapy and it helped a lot cause I got to focus on the underlying issues that might have been causing SI. I don't think therapy ever makes you stop SI - it just can help you f...

I can't endure reality as such. I don't believe anyone sails through life even if it may a...
