Reward system or tricking yourself
I am wondering if anyone else ever used alternative means to stop themselves from harming when they wanted. Of course, ideally, it would be enough to use logic and reason and emotional maturity and self care to say we wont do it because it is bad for us, but sometimes that just is not enough. I woul...

I am so filed with rage towards her that I think if she was in front of me I would physically harm her and not even feel guilty. I hate her lying stealing guts.

Re: Substitution.
Maybe you could try slowly switching to things less rough? Like go from pen to pencil to pencil eraser to finger? Or something like that? Or, you could try using a warternberg wheel. I sometimes find that helpful. When used lightly it feels ticklish, but when pressed a little firmer it feels like yo...

Re: Substitution.
When I first was able to stop cutting I did so by substituting other forms of pain and distraction. I squeezed ice cubes, for example. It was better, as it was safer and didnt leave marks and had less risks, etc. But the underlying problems were the same. And I still had to deal with them. But if sw...

Changing email when it was already in use
I would like to change my email on here so I get notifications at the email I use regularily, but because I had signed up here before with that address it will not let me change it. I do not remember my own username or password, and I believe it has been years. Is this possible?

Re: Your life in 5 years......?
This was a really hard one for me, because I have so many pipe dreams, and it is hard for me to wrap my head around what is achievable, and the idea that one day I might do something of value. In 5 years I want to have completed at least one of the three books that I am very half ass-edly working to...

I am sure a therapist might say it is counter intuitive or something, but oh well! *I broke my finger at the start of the beach season (I am a volleyball player) *My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and I am going broke treating it *My big toe feels wierd and te...

Re: Craving SI
I can relate to your feelings OP. I still get the strange urge out of nowhere. It always surprises me. I try to examine it, see if there is a legitimate motive, or if it is just some strange nostalgic brain wiring crossing or something. Ussually, for me, it is the latter.
