Is calling your pdoc before Tuesday an option? Or do you have a t you could call? Perhaps you could spend some time on Tuesday talking over some options with your pdoc. I know that mine has reassured me that I can call (any time) if I am feeling SU and that doesn't automatically mean IP. It was very...

Hi Lycander - I've been in the place where you are right now and it's awful. I think your description of your exhaustion is particularly apt. Three weeks isn't a very long time at a new job; it might take longer than that to get in the routine, particularly if you haven't been working for a while. I...

I don't think so - I'm sure it's just a matter of finding the right one, or combination of meds. My pdoc is actually a psychopharmacologist so he specializes in psych meds. If you have a complicated history with meds, maybe it would be helpful to try to find a doctor with this specialty. This is the...

Wellbutrin seems to affect a lot of people like that. It was the one I couldn't take at all because it made me over-the-top anxious and then gave me strong SU feelings. It definitely gets frustrating to find the right meds. I can sympathize! I now take Effexor as an AD and Lamictal as a mood stabili...

Good for you for letting your t call your pdoc! I know that kind of stuff can be so hard. Sometimes just being aware of spending or overcommitting can help you not do it. And, as I said, leaving credit cards, checks and most cash at home really curbs the spending. I learned that lesson the hard way....

Hi Something Else - I replied to your thread in coping, but I want to stress that I think it is really important to call you pdoc. I do understand about feeling comfortable, but this sort of state is something to be concerned about. If you just can't manage that, can you ask your t to call your pdoc...

Hi - I've had that feeling and it can be fun and sort of scary at the same time. First, have you talked to your doctor about the reaction to the meds increase? He may need to change things again. Or, if it is something that you will adjust to but will take some time, a benzo like Xanax can be helpfu...

Full-blown panic attacks can be tough. First, for the long term, are you on anti-anxiety meds, in addition to antidepressants. I have to have both and it might be worth talking to your doctor about. For the short term, though. Taking deep breaths really does help panic and can even prevent a panic a...

Hi to both of you! I feel a certain kinship with Balletomane because we share a birthday. :D Thank you both for doing a great job. I really think this forum is the most immediately useful one on the board and I have told lots of people about it. I rarely post answers but I use the questions anyway. ...

I can't think of ways to cope if I really freak out at work. Most coping strategies aren't possible or allowed there. Hi - First, I hope it's okay to reply here. I'm really sorry that things spiralled so far out of control; it really sounds like a difficult day. If it's okay, I thought of a couple ...

Hi Nobody - I don't have any answers for you, except to say that you are definitely not alone. I have been dealing with the same thing lately. No real triggers; just an overwhelming need to SI. These urges are beginning to ease up some, finally! I think that I have been paying more attention to thin...

Hi ebmcs - This is a late reply; I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier. How did your evening end up? Did you end up SI'ing or did you try one of the other ways to cope that you mentioned? I hope things are better for you now. Dealing with rejection and disappointment are very tough. How I handle ...

That sounds like it would be very upsetting. But, she is lucky to have a friend like you who would risk your friendship to save her life. Hopefully, she will appreciate what you did for her. But, even is she is angry, you did the right thing. You did a great job taking care of your friend; now be su...

Maybe I am not understand this, but my partner encourages me to meet my own needs. If fundamental changes need to be made to the dynamic of our relationship to make it happier then she is willing to work with me. She hates our relationship being combative and argumentative as much as I do so we jus...

I do know that one thing that is happening is that, as I change it necessarily is throwing my husband into equal but opposite reaction. That is my fear, Okie. I can't get past the idea that if I truly work on me and my own desires, that it will be akin to dropping a nuclear bomb into the middle of ...
