i don't think you were rambling -- on the contrary, it sounded to me like your post demonstrated some very well thought-through analysis of your SI and your feelings. But now I find that I have felt so disgusted by myself that it's hard to appreciate my feelings because of how disappointed I am. I k...

chessie, i have problems with my vision, too. i could be wrong, but it seemed from previous discussion that the board themes were pretty well set for now. if that does turn out to be the case, mallie's suggestion about turning the screen darker works well -- and i also have a screen in front of my m...

hah! [url=http://www.buslist.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=6769]found it![/quote] go to the Sourcebook Contents Page, which is the first Announcement in Sourcebook, right at the top, and look under "Self Therapy Techniques", then "not being able to name your emotions" -- that's it. Deb posted a whole DB...

apologies for resurrecting an old thread for a tangent, but i just had to share...

i realized yesterday that if i drag the mouse over the "url" button when i'm replying, a nice little set of instructions explaining the BBcode for linking urls pops up.

I'm still in the situation. my first lecture is at 2pm today. I have to do ti somehow. *thinking warm supportive things in your direction* i'll come back and hopefully say something a little more helpful later, but just for right now, good luck with the lecture. i think noticing that eating had som...

Maybe I can find a healthy "in between" or a way to connect to the physical things I am noticing (like clenching fists, gritting teeth, etc.) without getting overwhelmed with feelings. you know, there's a post that deb put down in the sourcebook a long time ago with a lot of information from her ex...

absolutely be proud of yourself!! what a fantastic day for you. and i'm glad you posted about it -- not only did you accomplish some things that are generally real struggles for you, but you gave yourself some space to feel proud of yourself and share that, even though feeling proud of yourself soun...

if you're not ready to open up to a person, you could try writing down what happened, and more importantly, how it made you feel this is exactly what i was going to say. writing can be a truly expressive, and much less potentially vulnerable, way to get your feelings out of you. i don't know what i...

I'm in my terrible twos again!!! See? MINEMINEMINE!!!! ALL MINE!!!! NO SHARE!!!! I will feel like I accomplished something, even though it is something I really don’t want to do. Maybe just getting something done, rather than the lack of action that seems to be part of my depression. this really resonates with me. i remember feeling exactly this way -- i think i've even written...

*sigh* so perhaps the difficulty i'm having in responding to this post again is indicative of the problem itself. i've been thinking about this post, and your replies, for a few weeks now. and this: I second platt's suggestion of writing stuff out and giving it to your t. I think you need to tell he...

first of all, dreams, i wanted to say that i think it's laudable of you to be a) recognizing this behavior in yourself, and b)wanting, and actively trying, to stop it. a lot of people who tend to blame others for problems just ... don't ever realize it, or recognize what they're doing. i mean, a lot...

welcome to BUS. :) first of all ... if you do ever have to go to the doctor, for any reason -- it's your right not to have to explain why you're hurt. there's actually a lot of discussion on here about the various laws doctors have to follow, whether or not they're morally obligated to ask if they f...

you know, i don't even know what Quidditch looks like, but it really makes me smile that it's a theme title. (*Dobby voice* Harry Potter must come look at the new BUS themes! one is titled in his honor, sir! Hooray!)

thanks, deb. :)

i really relate to this post, Wild Sunlight ... i think thatway's right. it's a matter of practice, repetition ... of consciously recognizing and being aware of the language you use to talk to yourself, all the time, and actually *practicing* positive self-talk. i found it easier to do when i starte...
