Re: Place To Wish

I wish I didn't feel anxious. I wish I knew whether this niggling anxiety was PMT or accumulated stress, and thus whether "this too shall pass" or whether this is a sign of something which needs handling and monitoring. I wish my clue to rising stress levels wasn't the urge to si or suicidal thought...

Don't know what happened as I haven't been told, but it looks like the domain-name stopped being assigned to us. That meant the web board was still existing happily, but the address we use to connect to it didn't point to it anymore.

No there isn't, beyond checking for their last post and spotting them if they're online and have set themselves to visible. Not even mods can tell when someone was last online, only admins, but for privacy reasons that's something I think they tend not to disclose.

I also haven't had problems and I'm kusing firefox on linux. A couple of suggestions: 1. Firefox 3 is due out in June - that might fix it if you can hang on. 2. You could try reinstalling firefox in case it has got corrupted somehow. 3. You could try setting up a new profile and using that, in case ...

To speed the board up deb archived all threads which hadn't been posted on since December 2003. I don't know what the link to the old board is. We're now running on a new server which should be able to handle having everything on one board, but that will have to wait until deb has time to merge them...

Done. :)

I'm kind of assuming you can't delete your own polls, because I do it by a little button below the options, and I assume you would have seen that if it was there?

I can delete it if you would like? I'll do some experimenting to figure out how you could delete it yourself as well.

HI morning-glory If you'd like to reserve your own avatar then read this post: http://buslist.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=119918 Basically, normally you would email an avatar wrangler but there's a backlog so please don't do that right now. Your sig is broken because we have disabled the use of the ht...

Mark has now fixed the avatars so they work. Hooray! Thanks, mark! unfortunately not all the avatar wranglers seem to be able to log in yet, so it will be a while before avatars will be reservable. When they do start working, please bear in mind that there will be a queue of about 6 months of avatar...

I run 2.0.0.8 or 2.0.0.9 on slackware 11.0. Firefox is pretty stable these days, btu until at least relatively recently its normal memory footprint was said to be larger than opera's. Way better than IE6, of course, but it didn't set the bar for minimal memory usage. That's what I was referring to. ...

So does firefox for me. :) I prefer firefox because I can't live without my extensions, but opera has some nifty stuff built in. To anyone thinking of switching from IE I'd suggest trying both and seeing which suits you.

In all web-browsers you can manually override the display of a page by customising your user style sheet. Unfortunately this requires you to learn a bit of css and to edit your browser configuration files, but once you're set up it should be fine. You can learn about user style sheets at http://www....
