Re: After

Thanks. I thought about going to a friend's house and asking if I could spend the night, but there's no one who lives close enough who I'd want to know we were having problems. I could make up a coping kit and keep it in my car...kinda like I keep my blades in my purse so that I can "grab and go" if...

The situation won't change at all but I would relieve some of the stress. In the long run, won't the stress still be there? how do i want to feel about this in the long run? is hurting myself likely to get me closer to or I could put it off like I have been doing for days, but I don't seem to be ge...

I find it really hard to hear that a friend's SI'd too and I know how triggering that can be.

I know you want to support her, but in the future, is there any way you can ask her to not call you immediately after she's SI'd?

go to bed maybe? i am pretty sure the tool in my bedroom will be too much of a temptation. i can't imagine anything else helping. i guess i could try and meditate, calm myself a bit? Could you take the tool out of your bedroom? Hide it away somewhere? One thing that I find really helps me (and this...

I do that a lot too, especially when I'm trying not to do more "damaging" forms of si (cutting, etc.) One thing that helps is really trying to be aware of the fact that I'm doing it. For instance, I tend to bite my knuckles when I'm nervous, so, rather than realizing it after my finger is in my mout...

Healthier things to call my own. Hm. I run. I'm not very fast, but I do like it and I'm going to run in a 5 mile race in 2 weeks. I have to watch that though because I have ed tendancies, and tend to take the running too far and not eat enough and lose weight, etc. I'm afraid if I use it as a substi...

I'm scared of their support I think. There was some abuse stuff that went on when I was in highschool and younger, so now that they are being nice and supportive, I think I'm having trouble trusting it. And, in some ways, I odn't want it. I feel like they are controlling me (even though I know that'...

Before: Before You Self-Harm write down the shadow that's hiding behind the urge. look at it. ask yourself: how will this situation or feeling change if i hurt myself? I'll be calmer. This tension I feel will be gone. I'll be focussed. I'll feel in control. I might be able to sleep better and not ha...

It sounds like you had a whole bunch of stressful events leading up to the typing of the poem that triggered you. What might you be able to do to deal with the stress before it gets to that level?

How do you survive a panic attack?

I've been having fairly frequent panic attacks of varying severity and duration. Am going to talk with my gp about this when I see him in a week, but in the meantime, how does one get through a panic attack without needing someone else to break the cycle for them or resorting to self harm?
