I might be able to relax, and stop my thoughts going crazy what will hurting myself bring to the situation? what will it take away from the...

Hey! I knew I was going to do it tonight. I'd been thinking about ut all day I knew it was going to happen, I just knew if I could get through the day then I would "reward" myself with SI. Glad its not just me who does that! I have a bad habit of letting the urge build up and up, then I decide on a ...

Tatty - I'd love you to make yourself comfy here again! Glad you're back! Balletomane - Do you live in New Hampshire then? I worked at a kid's horse riding camp there, so just wondered! What pets do you all have? If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? And...

Hey Rach - good on ya for posting here - I hope you've made it through  Do you know why you're so bad at this point? Did something particular happen? Maybe you could think about whether there are any ways that you could stop the anxiety getting this bad next time something like that happens? M...

Hey, sorry to hear you didn't make it. Its good that you've posted here though, and that you're taking care of your injuries. I let myself get past the point of nothing else working and I knew I was past that point. How do you think you can recognise you're getting close to that point "of no return"...

In five years I'll be 24 (eek!). In an ideal world, I'd have got over the whole SI thing, would have found some way to move to new zealand, and would have a secure job that I enjoyed, a partner, a dog or two and an icelandic horse. Not likely to happen, but you know what they say, its better to aim ...

Good on ya for working through it. i think i should have been able to find something more effective, as i came so close to serious si and/or su So what other things are you going to try next time, and how are you going to remember to do them? Hey, don't feel bad about it, it takes time to learn to use other coping skills other than SI. Do you have a particular tool you use? If so, maybe you could wrap it in sheets of paper or something, each with a coping suggestion on it, and you have to do that thing before you take off the paper? Firs...

Sorry to hear you didn't make it, such is life (((((((hugs)))))))) if ok. I thought, once I had SI'd, I would just feel pain, and upset, instead of self-hate, which are feelings I would prefer to feel. You were right, once I had SI'd, I did just feel more self-hate. Maybe it would be a good idea to ...

It may take away some feelings of self-hate. Can you explain to me why it will help you with those feelings? Can you think of another way to take away some of those feelings, maybe by being nice to yourself, treating yourself to a bath or anything? Because to me, SI seems to reinforce the self-hate...
