I know logically his first priority has to be his recovery from alcoholism, but I really want it to be me. Recovery is pretty much forever ongoing, but now that I "have" someone, I'd like to be first in his life for once.

I know what you mean and have often wondered the same thing. Coping because I can't imagine NOT doing so, because there's so much riding on me being capable and productive.
