There are three options: 1. "Retired forum moderator"/"retired board admin" with the special white busses. 2. "One of us"- this is a static rank that never changes regardless of post count. 3. You can choose to have no special rank selected. This means that your busses and rank title will change and...

I'm sorry that you're unhappy with the word retired...it was chosen over "former" or "ex" because for many people, it tends to have a more positive connotation than others. Over the years, we've had many people say that they don't know what the word "emeritus" means, and that has led to several misu...

Instead of clicking the "notify on reply" box, you could watch the topics that you reply to...that keeps them grouped together in the "watched topics" folder, and I think it will also email you when one of your watched topics gets a reply. I'm not sure whether the email part works, but at least that...

We really only deactivate accounts when someone is leaving and won't be coming back, or for security reasons- like if their anonymity is compromised and they've been found here by someone they know IRL. In the past, we've had people ask us to temporarily disable their account because they felt they ...

Deb may have some way of resurrecting them from the database, but aside from that, there is no way to get them back.

NTY came out of retirement and rejoined the staff as an admin. LBC, Say, and Magebaby were promoted from mods to admins, and radmom, pinky, and Elphaba have joined the staff as mods. If I've left anyone out, I'm sorry. I did this by memory, and that's just asking for trouble. ;)

Not just you... an hour or so ago, I got a debug/critical error message on login, so I emailed Deb to let her know. I'm glad it's working again.

Firefox is version 2.0.0.13, and I'm running Vista as my OS. :yuck: I don't think this is part of Vista's general crappiness, though, because I've been running FF on it for quite a long time, and have only begun to have this problem very recently. Thank you all for your replies, especially Gwylan. I...

OT- Firefox hanging/crashing. Anyone else?

I've been using Firefox since it was released, and I love it. I don't ever want to go back to using IE, but I'm beginning to seriously consider it. For the last several weeks, Firefox has been hanging and sometimes crashing completely several times a day. I haven't done anything new to my computer, ...

What's probably happened is that your old posts were put into the archive of BUS. The idea was that the really old posts would be separated from the active BUS because having such a massive board was unwieldy, and too much content made the board lag really badly and break a lot. So awhile back, Deb ...

What is it called, and what was done with it? Was it locked or moved out of Place? If you have a link, that would really help.

If you want to spend a lot of time looking at the past, creating a Place would be a good way to do that. Place is like an open diary/blog format, and you can choose whether or not to have people leave comments. If you want to focus on how to make positive changes in your future, and talk about speci...

This has been getting worse and worse for me over the last few days. It's so bad that I'm having trouble navigating and reading at all, and posting replies and doing adminny tasks are next to impossible right now. It takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes for pages to load, and that m...
