i was reading this thread inhere and i came to think that i want to make a difference in this world... i'll get back to the details... and knowing that i want to make a difference has kept me going when i didn't think i could do it anymore... so i thought if we all shared which difference we want to make in this world it would always be here and when you're down you can go look at your post and think of it and maybe it'll help you to keep fighting... and you can read others differences and get to know how wonderfull other people here are... and maybe even get inspired...
it doesn't have to be anything fancy, maybe just something silly... please, tell me...
i've always wanted to make a difference... mainly when it comes to child-neglect and abuse... which is part of the reason i'm off to lawschool soon... it might sound silly, but i hope one day i'll have enough money behind me to start a fund... i want to let people know what neglect is and what it does to children... i know it sounds kinda corny, but i want to speak up about it...

I don't think that's silly or corny or anything, I think it's an admirable thing to want to do. (sorry - I just read that, and thought it was really good, and a great idea for a thread)

i don't mean to copy you, but you wrote it first... me too.
i want to foster and adopt kids and give them a safe and loving home, which they might not have had before.

this saddens me... 40-ish people read this thread and didn't have anything to add?

I want to do something in suicide prevention/awareness. As a career, I want to do something in women's health.
I think this is a great thread.

I want to be a neonatologist and save sick little babies who otherwise wouldn't have made it.

What an amazing goal. Don't you just love babies?

*looks at your sig* you're already helping people

really good
edit: forgot to add
I want to make a difference by finding a way to cure or help people with diseases that currently have no (good) therapy. By doing research (studying that anyway). I'm thinking chronic pain or ALS or MS. Something like that

my place (visitors welcome)
fall seven times, stand up eight
Hope blooms, even in the darkest of places

I want to be a musician. I doubt it will ever happen but I'll try.
I don't know if that sounds less meaningful than everyone elses, but music has helped and inspired me in ways I can't explain, and I want to do that for others.
I also have stong beliefs in helping world issues like aids and poverty.

That is in no way less meaningful than anyone else's goal. I think music has an amazing positive influence on people's lives.

I think this is a great thread, the difference I want to make and will actually be making this year is teaching children with special needs. I am a middle school special education teacher in a pretty bad neighborhood. My goal is to help these kids reach their goals and give them hope to succeed in life even though some people think students with needs can not succeed like others and I want to help these students prove society wrong. I want to really make a change in my students lives and I hope I am successful this year.

This is such a great thread, and I really hope everyone's hopes and goals come true!
I want to make a difference by caring for orphaned and injured wildlife, and adopting mistreated pets. There's so many people who just don't care about them, I'd really like to find a way to protect animals from people like that.
