Re: FireFox: How to make reading and posting here a lot easier

Hey, that was a pretty old extension, and firefox has gone through a lot of changes since then, not to mention that BUS is now operating on phpBB3 instead of phpBB2, so I guess it just doesn't work anymore.

I was hoping you'd come along and explain this :) you definitely 'get it' on a level above my understanding!

Re: (silly) questions about spam and stuff.

There are other people here who can explain the google thing better ... but as far as I understand, though google doesn't index BUS (like you can't find BUS posts or users through google search results) google does send little ... umm things ... over that look at BUS and make sure that it shows up i...

Re: Spam in place.

This is partially my fault, I'm falling down on the job because I'm not really here. I should be back properly either over the weekend or next week, so with more of us working on it, it will get zapped more frequently (though there's always ups and downs in how fast it comes). :cystar: prox. :cystar...

Thank you, I think some mods/admins may have already gotten most of these, but if not I'm getting them now :)

Re: Virus in Challenge Me thread

Hi guys, Several of the admins and mods have looked at the link, and not had any problems with it, it lead to a yahoo article that was no longer there, basically a 404. However, just because none of us had a problem with it doesn't mean that there isn't one. Especially since more than one person has...

Re: Virus in Challenge Me thread

Hi, I believe what happened was that when Jo saw your post she moved it off the board while we investigated, because she was worried that people might just click the link, and obviously that would be bad. After we found the thread you were talking about, and checked through it, and didn't find any l...

Re: If a section has no mods...

Yes, you can always contact an admin, but it might be worth contacting more than one, because not all of us are always around. Sometimes admins go on vacation, or get overwhelmed with real-life stress, or any other of a million possible reasons, and need to take a bit of a break from BUS. Usually if...

Re: spam in place

That reporting feature is actually fairly new, only since deb upgraded the board :) we used to have a much less efficient post-reporting feature, but then it broke, so for a long time it was just 'post somewhere or pm someone' ... the new reporting thing is awesome! Also, just to let you know, we've...

Re: BBCode, HTML, and you!

I don't think so, the only thing close to tables that I know how to make with BBCode are lists You can't even make a two column table using spaces because the board condenses them, so you would see it when drafting your post, but when you post it would be all squished together. Is that what you mean...

Re: spam in place

Yes, the spam has been pretty bad lately. We're trying to stay on top of it, deleting spam messages and spammers as often as we see them ... I know I've been doing it several times a day, and I'm not the only admin or mod who's working on trying to control the spam. Anyhow, I've gotten rid of that p...

Re: How do you delete a post?

Sarah, we are working on it, but it's still going to be a little while - we need deb for this. After a brief discussion, we have *no idea* why your delete option came back again for a brief period - none of us did anything that could/should have caused that to happen. That just makes the problem a b...

Re: Passwords?!?!

For whatever it's worth, I just came back to BUS after being away for a while, and I had to re-set my password too. It was confusing, and I'm still forgetting my capitals most times I log in ;) But I get in after a couple tries, and I know that after a bit it'll seem natural again. :grystar: prox. :...
