Oh honey...you aren't wrong for wanting your doc to understand your illness. It's their job to help us, not to make us more anxious. I would hope that most Ts and Pdocs understand that you just can't make someone stop using one coping mechanism until they have others. On that note...things that help...

I hear you. I know it doesn't make sense right now...but it will. I promise you. Sometimes I'm lost and confused and the world makes no sense at all, but then other times everything becomes clear, and I can see the path before me and follow it. I know it's really hard to hang on when it feels like t...

I picked mine...because it's part of an art piece I did around the time that I joined bus. Art is really theraputic for me, and often when I can't deal with anything else, I can still do art. Here's the whole art piece if anyone wants to see it. No trigs that I know of. Rather large file though--sor...

flipflopfetish --(((hugs))) I'm sorry it's so difficult. You can do this--but I know hearing that may not really help when it is so hard. Hang in there. I care :purpstar: MusicalMorphine --(((hugs))) I'm sorry you feel that you're failing/screwed. I'm not in a position to say whether you are screwe...

Do you use coping methods (healthy ones... ) in combination or just on their own? Usually one after another--I do one thing until it doesn't seem to be working, then move on to the next--until I feel better. Name something that helps you to cope beginning with the letter 'A'. Um...AFI! Listening to...

little pixie dust - First, you're not alone; many (maybe most) of us sometimes run into situations where it's difficult to hide our SI. Here are my thoughts on your current situation: Certainly go ahead and say something to your PE instructor. You may not even really have to give a reason--I'm extre...

Everyone - thank you so much. I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in this. :) I do sometimes just say to my brother that I'm not in the mood to hug, but often he still walks off in a huff, saying "You're never in the mood to hug." Still, I think he's starting to understand, and it doesn't bother him...
